FINALLY!!! A video game
adaptation worthy of seeing! It just goes to show what can happen when you
follow the source material, bring on the same people responsible for the
success of the game, pour your heart into it, and have the original creator
take the helm.

By far the best
videogame inspired content ever created!
The show keep
everything great from the game while adding a level of cinematic satisfaction
to every second of it... Pedro Pascal does an amazing job as Joel. His
performance is convincing and layered, can't wait to see how he dives into
other parts of Joel's journey. Gabriel Luna steals the show in every scene he's
in... his tommy is maybe one of the closest to the game... his accent, the body
language, it's all a very good Tommy!
And Bella Ramsey kills
it as Ellie, her Ellie is smart, quick with her words and knife! Her
performance is perhaps one of the best you'll ever come across.
The direction and
writing is as high level as it can get, scenes feel engaging even when little
action is happening and characters feel familiar even at first sight... the
writers captured the tone perfectly and the set design implements that very
tone to every scene.
To sum it all up,
HBO's The Last of Us is a outstanding piece of television which stays true to
it's source, but keeps veteran fans on their toes with respectful changes to
the story.

Amazing, just
straight-up amazing! Got the same feeling from this as I did when I played the
game for the first time ages ago. Pedro IS Joel and Bella IS Ellie, super happy
with the casting (Marlene is also super spot on too) so this certainly sets it
up nicely for the rest of the series. It's interesting having played this game
a bunch (both 1 and 2), and now watching it adapted as a show because I know
all of the lines from the game and love it when they're repeated again in the
show. It's also interesting to see which scenes they kept the same, which ones
they altered, and which ones got deleted/replaced with entirely new ones. I
also like that it seems they'll show Ellie's background as a part of the show
much earlier on since it was originally a DLC that came after you beat the
first game; having that insight much earlier on I think is really imperative
for an audience.
I wonder how scary
they'll make it, since sitting alone in a dark room playing it is significantly
different that watching it - that pressure you feel while playing it with the
whole "I have to watch my back, check all the corners, listen to all of
the sounds in an environment, etc.," is gone, but that allows for other
changes to be done with someone watching things unfold instead. Super excited
and can't wait for the next ep!

"The Last of
Us," the highly-anticipated HBO series based on the critically acclaimed
video game of the same name, is a truly remarkable viewing experience that will
leave you captivated from start to finish. The show expertly adapts the game's
powerful storytelling and characters for the small screen, delivering a
thrilling and emotionally charged journey through a post-apocalyptic world
ravaged by a deadly fungus.
·
One of the show's
greatest strengths is its commitment to character development and emotional
depth. Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey give outstanding performances as Joel and
Ellie, respectively, and the script does a masterful job of exploring the complex
bond that forms between them as they navigate the dangers of a fallen society.
The series also manages to expand on the game's already rich world-building,
delving deeper into the politics and power struggles of the remaining human
settlements.
·
The direction and
production design are also top-notch, with the series effectively capturing the
gritty, desperate feel of a world on the brink of collapse. The cinematography
and score also deserve special mention, adding to the overall atmosphere of the
show and amplifying the emotional impact of key scenes. The special effects
used in the series are also outstanding and adds to the cinematic feel of the
show.
·
The series also delves
into the psychological and emotional impact of the characters, and the audience
can see the gradual change in the characters throughout the series. The script
is well-written and leaves a lasting impact on the audience. The pacing of the
series is also well done and keeps the audience engaged throughout the show.
·
Overall, "The
Last of Us" is a must-watch for fans of the game and newcomers alike. The
series manages to stay true to the source material while also standing on its
own as a masterful piece of storytelling. It's a thrilling and ultimately
hopeful, tale of survival and humanity in the face of unimaginable horror that
will leave you in awe.
·
It is the
storytelling, powerful performances, and the intense atmosphere that will leave
you captivated and sets it apart as an unforgettable watch. The series also
raises some thought-provoking questions about the nature of humanity and the
lengths we will go to survive. It's a series that will stay with you long after
you've finished watching it."

WOW 🤩 The first episode certainly set the
bar high! As someone who fell deeply in love with the video game and has
completed it over 8 times- I was quite skeptical when they announced a TV show
adaptation. However, I must say that I’m extremely over the moon with how
incredible everything has been from the get-go. The casting, acting, script,
storyline and attention to detail is spot on. I immediately picked up on all
the small things that were included from the game and it’s those minor things
that make such a huge impact. The actors perfectly capture the essence of the
video game characters and really bring back that sense of nostalgia as if
playing the game for the first time all over again. What’s also spectacular is
that people who’ve never seen or played the game could watch this and thoroughly
enjoy/understand it. So far, my vote is 100000/10 and I can’t wait to see more.
Well done to all involved in the production and thank you for making it so
alike the game. This is what we wanted, and you all delivered ❤️

Not a gamer myself,
but I’ve watched my boys game for years which gives me an understanding of the
gamer POV; exploited here beautifully.
Watching Episode 1 on our OLED in Dolby Vision & ATMOS Surround was
nothing short of stunning…FULL STOP! An
immersive and thrilling viewing experience.
·
An added bonus is
reading all the BOGUS 1 Star reviews by Incel Trolls angry because the guy who
actually invented the games decided he wanted to be more inclusive. Rants containing the words “ woke, Hollywood,
race swapping, miscasting, SJW, LGBTQ” and other Troll language are just the
tears from the aggrieved Incels living in Mommy’s basement and angry they can’t
get a date. 🤣
·
Based only on the
pilot episode, this is easily one of the best shows from HBO - an outfit not
short on great television - in a very, very long time. HBO’s deep pockets pay off handsomely here
resulting in outstanding production values, gritty sets and seamless CGI
blending. Casting is flawless, and acting across the board was nothing short of
stellar. Standouts include Pascal, Ramsey, Torv and Ms. Parker.
·
Don’t write it off as
“ just another zombie show “; it’s so much more. While the
show-runners don’t miss a chance
to show us fungi infected horrors, the Pilot makes crystal clear it is the
living - not the living dead - our heroes need fear. Like the earliest episodes of TWD, the
humanity shines through.
·
The Pilot accomplished
something in ~90 minutes most shows can’t throughout their entire run: I CARE
about these characters!! Sundays cannot
come fast enough for this viewer! HBO’s
The Last of Us is why the term “ Appointment Viewing “ exists. Miss this at
your peril.

I love this show &
so far it is following the video game story right down to the tee & even
the script word for word. Yeah they add a little extra detail but it is very
consistent with the storyline. I got my wife hooked to the first episode &
she remembers when I played the game back in 2013 especially the opening
chaotic scene when joel’s daughter was shot & killed by a fedra soldier.
She actually remembered that cinematic video game scene from 10 year’s ago. The
movie was spot on about everything, even Jimmy’s house burning down as they’re
trying to escape the city. I am definitely hooked to this show & I highly
recommend anybody who loves end of the world or epidemic outbreak movies to see
this one. This brain fungal virus makes covid-19 look like a walk in the park!

I cannot say for if
this is a good adaptation for the game it was based on, as I have never played
it, so I can only form an opinion purely from the show itself. I think it a
good show with solid characters so far. This apocalyptic world is beautiful and
disastrous, feeling like it completely understands itself. The creatures/
zombies are gorgeously designed, yet with a practical and logical appearance
(from what I saw in the trailer). I'm very excited to see future episodes as I
trust it will only improve in all of these positive elements. I hate zombies
because they are silly and inconsistent, but there's a lot of promise with this
one through what I believe is self-awareness and the implementation of an
in-world science, such as an actual, understandable origin! I do not play video
games, but the original work has certainly intrigued me through this
introduction. I really hope that fans of the game find this adaptation to also
be satisfactory because they are most important.

The HBO adaptation of
"The Last of Us" is a triumph in every sense of the word. From the
stunning visuals to the expertly crafted story and performances, this series is
a must-watch for fans of the original game and newcomers alike.
·
The series takes place
in a post-apocalyptic world overrun by a deadly fungus that has turned most of
humanity into violent creatures. The story follows Joel, a hardened survivor,
and Ellie, a teenage girl with a mysterious immunity to the fungus, as they
journey across the country in search of a group of rebels fighting against the
infected.
·
The performances by
Pedro Pascal as Joel and Bella Ramsey as Ellie are nothing short of phenomenal.
The chemistry between the two actors is electric, and they bring a depth and
complexity to their characters that is rarely seen in television. The supporting
cast is also top-notch, with each actor bringing their own unique flair to the
story.
·
The production design
is breathtaking, with the series effectively capturing the gritty, desperate
world of the game while also adding its own spin. The special effects are
top-notch, with the infected creatures looking as terrifying and realistic as
ever.
·
Overall, "The
Last of Us" HBO series is a masterful adaptation that stands on its own as
a must-watch piece of television. It is a beautiful, emotional and thrilling
journey that will leave you on the edge of your seat until the very end.

I’ve played the
heart-pounding introduction to The Last of Us video game more times than I can
count to showcase that game to both gamers and non-gamers alike, and every
single person has been blown away every single time. I’m happy to say the show
did this so much justice. Everyone in the room showed the same shock and
interest as everyone who’s seen the game. That alone deserves praise, but throw
in Pedro Pascal as Joel and Bella Ramsey as Ellie and the magic they capture as
these characters is undeniable. From the first moment we first see Ellie, you
know you’re going to love this character. That’s how you know it’s special.
Staying true to the story with small adaptations to better fit a cinematic
experience is going to make this show shine. The story is already proven as
brilliant, and now that consumers can access it without the barrier of needing
a controller, there’s no way this show doesn’t shine.

The first episode is
filled with scenes and images pulled directly from the source material, but at
the same time adding its own twists and turns to the heart pounding moments
that kept us on your toes in the game. It's almost like playing the game over
again, then suddenly there are new alternative paths that given to you. It is
more than enough to keep a dedicated fan of the series on the edge of their
seat. So far the changes have not disappointed and in its own unique way still
manages to lead new viewers down the same paths TLOU fans treaded all those
years before. I for one am extremely excited and terrified for what's in store
for Joel and Ellie on their journey, its gonna be a ride to remember.

Absolutely love the
new adaptation, all the changes seen in the trailer, made me sceptical however,
it has been made abundantly clear they were needed to make a more grounded less
linear story. I love the how they've added more realism to the overall
situations and character decisions. For example when Joel beats the the corrupt
guards face in, after having a PTSD flashback of Sarah's death. Instead of
being restricted from a game play perspective it gives the writers more freedom
to do more realistic actions, for example: Joel picking up the automatic
weapon, it just makes sense from a logical point of view, i mean an automatic
weapon is going to be better than a handgun, and also drives players and
viewer's crazy when the character doesn't make the the most logical action. The
story being a show adaptation creates more liberty of freedom to make logical
and smart choices that would otherwise break the game from a game play
perspective.

I was only vaguely
acquainted with the game before watching so really had no preconceptions going
in. To me the first 2 episodes stand alone as brilliantly crafted pieces of
television. Everything just came together - the acting, the visuals, the
direction, the scripting - to produce a genuinely frightening, suspenseful,
edge of your seat adventure. The show has also been emotionally moving at times
which I really wasn't expecting to feel so early on. That is down to the
writing and superlative performances by a solid cast, especially Pedro Pascal
who really shines here. Some criticisms I have read point to the change in how
infection occurs. To me this is a necessary change. Too much emotional
intensity and therefore ability of the audience to empathise with and care for
the characters would be lost if everyone was donning masks all the time. Playing
the game gives you those things through constant immersion through role play
which is not achievable in television. Some changes are needed to bring a game
to life and have it work in this medium. I look forward to what may be coming
our way. A very solid start.

·
I'm a huge fan of TLOU
and this was a fantastic first episode and truly shows the producers are paying
close attention to the details in the 2013 Best video game of the year franchise!
·
Joel and Ellie are
represented almost EXACTLY like Their characters in the game and the build-up
in the first episode were very good! I hope to see a lot of action scenes and
violence in this TV show as it's spot on and would give it a SOLID 9.8!
·
The episode was done
perfectly scene by scene just like in the video game and had a lot of
references that many players and fans will notice immediately! I cannot wait to
see what the producers have in store for the next upcoming episodes as the characters
are introduced.
·
If you have never
played The Last of US, I would highly recommend playing at your own risk due to
spoilers in the video game.

·
This show is
unrealistic even by the low bar the Zombie genre has set over the past several
decades. The characters are vulgar, unlikable, annoying, and unconvincing. I
would describe Episode 1 as a low-budget, misguided, convoluted mess, that not
even a minute in attempts to use preachy scare-tactics about how the earth
warming just a little bit could cause the eventual apocalyptic pandemic.
Ironically this flashback takes place in the 1960's when climate scientists'
scare tactics involved predictions of global cooling and ice ages.
·
One can only question
the producers perceived notion of Utopia vs. Dystopia and their intent - among
a huge cast of characters we are introduced to, there are basically no white
male characters in the pilot, other than one submissive revolutionary who takes
orders from either minorities, LGBTQ+, women, or all three. And the other is a
drug-addict tyrant who I would describe as an innocuous villain.
·
The two main themes
seem to be narcotics - which often seem encouraged or glorified - and wokeness.
You will hear buzzwords and catchphrases like "saving democracy",
justice, fight, and resistance. Between the sides at conflict, I can't find any
moral code or reason to root for anyone. I'd be extremely satisfied if the
Zombies ate every single character in Episode 2.
·
If you are looking for
a show with mostly "under-represented" groups doing the heavy lifting
and dirty work, this is for you. I did not recall seeing any Indian or Asian
characters yet, so as it is so often, the high earning minorities are pushed
aside by the convenience of liberal disregard.
·
This is an adaptation
of a video game, but to me plays out like an ultra- woke rip-off of the
infinitely better (and honestly more inclusive) Black Summer.

Just watched the first
episode, I'm a huge fan of the franchise and love the characters dearly, so it
felt weird that I'm watching at Joel and he looks and sounds different, same
deal with Ellie, Sarah and Tess but it felt good, some other things were
different some were almost copied from the game. I loved it every second, yes
it is early to tell and many things can go awry but I believe it will continue
with this quality and deliver a masterpiece of an experience once again just on
a different medium and with slightly different story. I'm very happy that more
people will get to experience the Last Of Us world and super hyped (which
hasn't happened in a while so yay me) to see where it leads and what will be
different.
TL;DR: YES YOU SHOULD WATCH IT, YES IT IS VERY GOOD!

·
Certainly better than
expected. I personally find the games to be overrated as most elements of the
story have been done many times in the past but I enjoyed this so far.
·
Will need to watch
further to see where they take it. I agree with some comments about Ellie, she
is absolutely insufferable in her first few scenes. This got better, though,
she improved across the episodes. A brat growing into a girl is normal and
fine, a brat for multiple seasons would not be but there is hope it seems.
·
Good visuals, a few
too many slow scenes and slightly tedious character building considering how
early it is but nothing too boring. Monsters are well done and looking forward
to more.
·
A well deserved 4/5
and I think how they utilise the story and develop characters will decide my
future opinion. Not perfect but well worth your time.

I enjoy this game so
much, it has such a powerful memory in my heart. I have played it many times
both 1 and 2 (and the DLC) and it is my overall favorite game. The show is also
a very big cinematic success that it so wonderfully made. Neildruckmann
seriously knows how to make a heartfelt story.
·
I understand that they
hired actors/actresses that is made for the role but they should've done a bit
better. Pedro Pascals acting is spot on and he even re symbols him! Bella
Ramsey.. not so much. (no disrespect) She can act but she just doesn't look
like her at all and I felt like they could've done better. That is not our
Ellie. I would've enjoyed to see Chloë Grace Moretz or Kaitlyn Dever play this
role because they have the face and even the acting experience. I was a little
disappointed with the casting of Sarah and Tess as well (Im not saying they are
terrible actors but it just couldve been a little more) Im not trying to be
disrespectful but they chose a fair toned girl with curly brown hair instead of
a pale girl with blonde straight hair?? As well with Anna Torv she just didnt
quite act like the badass Tess we know. The scene with Robert disappointed me
because in the game Joel breaks his arm and Tess shoots him in his head but in
the show he is already dead and you dont get as much excitement. My original
thought before this whole show came out was why they couldn't cast the real
actors and actresses because Im sure every fan would've had the emotional
connection with the entire show as they did with the video game. Speaking since
they used the original actress Merle Dandridge, as Marlene. The scene with
Sarah in the beginning, it was done beautifully but it could've been a bit
better with more appearance. Other than the terrible casting the show was such
a empathetic moment for me. I love how they kept some scenes, added new ones or
the deleted scenes but some I wish they kept. While I was watching this I just
kept replaying the real scene in my head and waiting for it to come on but then
it never did, or some scenes that were new were a little odd but fit well as if
they were really in a post traumatic pandemic. Such as when Joel was doing a
drug deal or when Joel and Marlene bumped into each other and sent him off with
Ellie. As I said before, one of the scenes I wish they kept in but they changed
it.
·
Overall the first
episode was so amazing and I loved it so much, I just wanted to get my thoughts
about it out since a lot of you agree with what I also agree with. The scenery
and the buildings/rooms looked very alike and thats what I loved the most. I
really do recommend this show to people who like zombie filled shows or a
powerful connection between characters, even the people who played the games
and haven´t seen the show yet! Well done to all the people who collaborated on
this gorgeous film and all the producers best of luck to the rest of the show,

The show expands upon, still has pretty much the same plot, & still
captures the spirit & soul of The Last Of Us game. For those new, this is a

Created by one of the best video game developers Naughty Dog,
"The Last of Us" video game series is critically acclaimed for its
real world immersive, brutal, scientific, intense, & heartbreaking
storyline paired w its great third-person perspective stealth game mechanics.
·
Having played the "The Last of Us" series, it lived up
to the hype & then some, holding a place as one of my all-time favorites.
·
When "The Last of Us" HBO series was announced &
previewed, I was stoked to say the least.
·
Knowing the characters of Joel & Ellie, I knew Pedro Pascal
& Bella Ramsey were perfectly cast. After watching the 1st episode,
"When You're Lost in the Darkness", I couldn't be more pumped!
Everyone is perfectly cast, carrying incredible vibe & tone, it was intense
from start to finish.
·
From the opening scientific reasoning scene (which is not
directly from the video game), I greatly appreciate as not only an intelligent
viewer but also for the immediate immersion for the millions who've never
played the video game - it instantly explains the why/how & sets up the
extreme intensity that follows.
·
To Sarah waking up at 2:16am, thru the chaos, then ultimately,
to the heartbreak (which is all directly shot from the video game) - It's
everything a post apocalyptic moving picture should strive for & I
seriously cannot wait. for. each. upcoming. episode.

With the first episode
so far, I really like how Joel has the sudden flashback of his daughter being
shot from another guard twenty years ago, which gives him the high-level
confidence of charging at the guard from the Boston QZ, killing him with his
bare hands.
Also I don’t mind the
cast so far either. I like how the Ellie character in the show is still pretty
bossy as a teenager, but not as much as the one in the game.
The actor who plays
Joel may have been a good suggestion to cast him for in this show, as I’ve seen
him in a few humorous roles and he will probably entertain us even more as the
main character.
The lady in the chair
at the start was in a real still position. Then in the next shot, you know that
the depth of field is blurred fully in the background to focus on Joel’s
daughter but can still see the lady’s slight expressions of her suffering from
getting the infection. That really makes the scene feel as that Joel’s daughter
has no sense in what’s going on behind her.
Another thing is how
the very start of the first episode originated in 1968 when there was a talk
show about there ever being an infectious disease spreading around the world in
the future. And to be honest, I guess those people were definitely right.
What I’m saying is
that the rest of this show may be one the best video-game adaptions ever!

"There should be this or that coming up soon" , the fx of the

didnt look like her but her acting was on point and very emotional. Yes the
actress who plays Ellie also doesnt look like her game version but she acts
like Ellie 100% so she gets a tick from me. I just can't wait to see the

Tense opening
sequences act 1, obvious reference points TWD, Black Summer early episodes. Act
2 slower but fleshing out the main characters & their goals. If you’ve
played the game, you know the early heartache & the show still makes it a
gut punch.
Great casting, Pascal
definitely flexible in his roles, immediate buy in to him as Joel &
flashbacks at one key point to what Prince Oberyn SHOULD have done to the
Mountain when he had him incapacitated. Bella Ramsey too, a scene stealer in
GOT & good that we will see ALOT more of her in this series as Ellie.
Since House of Dragons
was a bit of a let down, I think I’ve found a show that I can watch over &
over again, buy the steelbook, t shirt etc. I hear episode 3 is already being
touted as TV episode of the year, thus far I believe it…

I’m a huge fan of the

of grief I went through after losing my fiancé in a car crash…so as you can
imagine this game means everything to me. So I was really excited for this show
while also trying not to be too hopeful because video game adaptations don’t
usually go well. But I’m blow away by how good the first episode is, they
really do capture the spirit of the game. The acting is great and there were so
many nods to the fans of the games. Some scenes and dialogue being almost
exactly the same while also giving more backstory to things we never got to see
in the game. Honestly thank you for making this game into a show. 10/10 I can’t

worried that "the actors don't look like the roles" complaints need

The show has done an
amazing job of giving the fan base everything from the source material, and
sticking to the actual gameplay feel of what everyone experienced with the Last

·
I also really love how
they have filled in gaps with realistic scenery to compliment the division

·
Unlike other game

that if you stick with the source material, and deviate rarely, you'll have an
epic drama, which this show has done.

The Last of Us HBO TV
show is an exciting upcoming adaptation of one of the most beloved
post-apocalyptic video games. Set in a world filled with dangerous creatures, complex
characters and ethical dilemmas, this series promises to be a thrilling journey

I
think a lot of the 5 star reviews are from cult fans. Either that or half the
naughty dog team who made the game. I'm
not sure if it is because I have played the game a few times but so far for me
it comes across very predictable EP1 is nearly a carbon copy of the cut scenes
from the game (just re acted and brought to life by HBO with a all star albeit
different cast)
·
At
least with a book, your using your imagination and get to see it come to life
on the big screen. Maybe the team deserve a pat on the back for bringing the
game to life like that but I dunno, I kinda wanted more.
·
I
think Bella will do a great job as Ellie but for a young English actress it's a
pretty tough ask to sound convincing using this thick american accent. Not sure
I buy it just yet.
·
Also
I'm not sure if the actual story has is
big enough to last 9 episodes at a hour and however long without a fair amount
of filler, I can see ratings dropping but you never know, maybe the new bits
they've added in will make this show great. The actor who plays the hotel
manager in season 1 of White lotus was brilliant so if he has similar good writing
to work with maybe he will keep viewers locked in.
·
I
was really looking forward to this show but maybe playing the game has somehow
spoiled it for me because as a fan of Tv shows and movies I was a little bored.

HBO 👏
Omg 😃 what a smashing first episode. My
husband was worried it was gonna be to predictable seeing as he played the game
100s of times. But how they improved the scenes to change but still tell the
story and showcase a similar routine to the game is unbelievable.
The actors nailed it
and gave a unbelievable performance so far. Especially the roll of Ellie and
Joel. don't think they could of picked better actors and a director for this.
Pedro and belle are absolutely fantastic and I got a feeling these two are
gonna tell a unbelievable story and performance in the up coming episodes. It's
very hard for my husband to get into something as far as tv series go and has
only watched a few series like sons of anarchy and prison break and he
absolutely was glued into this. He's a massive fan of the game and was blown
away as well in the opening episode. Sunday night just became a new date night ❤️......
HBO NAILED IT 👏👏👏

Fantastic first
episode and honestly couldn’t have asked for more. The show stays true to the
game by ripping scenes and events from it, but expands and adds a whole new
layer of depth. For example, the scenes where we see Sarah going to school,
going out to get the watch fixed, going over to the neighbours etc are amazing.
We get to see the subtle clues around Sarah of the outbreak slowly happening
around her, and I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. When the outbreak
hit I had goosebumps the entire time all the way up until I had tears watching
Sarah die in Joel’s arms. As for the casting, I’m extremely happy with Tommy’s
and Joel’s portrayal as well as Sarah. Despite her not looking like the
original character, I still thought she nailed her performance and couldn’t
have asked for better. However, the two casting decisions I’m not too high on
are Tess’s and Ellie’s. They just look nothing like the games characters and I
always have to keep reminding myself that they are actually them. I can live with
Tess’s portrayal because she’s obviously not going to be a main character, but
Ellie is definitely going to bother me. Perhaps I’ll get used to it over time,
but it still feels weird and could have easily been avoided by just casting a
younger actress that shares some resemblance to the games character. That’s
honestly my only nitpick, I still think this show is going to be amazing and
the first episode is definitely a testament to that.

(SPOILER FREE) Probably the BEST way a show
can replicate a games universe and ideas. You need to expand (which the show
does and does not fail) the entire purpose of the game being the virus and in
the very first scene you see the show does just that. It is very hard to replicate
a game into a show when you do not have the same feeling a game usually has in
the sense it does not touch reality. Shows usually do as they are real people
portraying game characters but they do it in such a phenomenal way that
honestly I don't see much difference. This is going to be the best piece of
television since Breaking Bad itself, I promise you.
Ratings: Acting 9.7/10
- Story 11/10 - Background Info 9.5/10 - Main Premise 10/10 - Shows Replica
9.9/10 - Overall Rating 10/10
EDIT: Episode 2 and 3 are somehow even better?
This show is too good man. Finally some entertainment in my life.

I
know, right! it's actually to early for a review after only 1 released episode
but here I am.
·
Im
a huge The Last Of Us fan since the day 1 game release on PS3. Therefore I was
absolutely against a TV show adaption of my beloved game bec. 99% of adaptions
sux.
·
When
I heard the first rumours about the cast, I was for example absolutely against
Pedro Pascal as Joel. My fav. Joel actors to go with were Hugh Jackman or
Nikolaj Coster Waldau.
·
I
was also against Bella Ramsey as Ellie or Nico Parker as Sarah Miller but the
first episode proofed me partially wrong.
·
Pros:
( + 5 )
·
+
Pedro Pascal. to be honest, he made a really good job. I never thought that I
would say that I'm actually happy with him as Joel.
·
+
Setting (game vibes)
·
+
Story (atm really close to the game)
·
+
Nico Parker (Sarah Miller)
·
+
Anna Torv (Tess)
·
Cons:
(- 3 )
-
Race
swap (Nico Parker - Sarah Miller)
-
-
Bella Ramsey as Ellie. Absolutely wrong casted.
·
She
doesnt give me Ellie vibes and magic. Her personality is atm very different
compared to the game. She acts like an angry, arrogant, hysterical and spoiled
little smarta55 beach.
·
I'm
sure, Nico Parker would have done a 100 times better Ellie.
·
Let's
see how TLOU evolves in the future.
·
I
will definitely adjust my review later based on more released episodes again.

OMG! This show is the
next 'Walking Dead'! If all you zombie show loving people haven't seen this, it
is so worth your time. Great lead actors that immediately, before and after
oubreak, grab you, and you cant help but root for them. Awesome plot (although
somewhat same-old same-old so far, but it's a zombie virus takeover plot, so
that's to be expected). The zombies seem to me to be a bit more vicious and
quick than on older shows, and this time around, they can't see, but can hear.
They make terror inducing clicking sounds, in addition to the usual high
pitched shrieks all zombies seem to share(I think that's how they navigate, by
echo recall, like bats.) Set in the very beginning of the zombie apocalypse,
the two zombies featured were really great, the younger one very fast moving
but also a bit clumsy, and the elderly one very hungry. Fast forward to the the
middle of the second episode and we see one zombie clicking away and making
sounds like it is aspirating. Again, though, it was very clumsy, and the extra
who was acting that role looked very awkward, very B movie, and the fungi-mask
that the special effects/make-up people created for it was, or looked like it
was, just a rubber mask such as you might purchase at a party store. I was
disappointed in the inconsistencies of the zombies. However it had a great
lead--lead-in, and the time flipping was not too jarring. I couldn't believe
this when I saw the cast list, but two of my favorite indigenous actors of all
time are in it. Elaine Miles from 'Northern Exposure' who kind of dropped out
of the acting world for a while, and Graham Green, from the same show, although
he's been in many more films over the years, including a turn as a sheriff in
the gripping film 'Wind River', and many more films I can't remember now, but I've
seen them all. This is a must watch for you "zombiephile" people,
although most of you probably tuned in straight away, knowing a promising
zombie virus outbreak series when you see it. I can't wait to see more
episodes. Episode two drops on HBO on Sunday. Here's the thing though, I don't
pay for anything but Netflix anymore because there are free streaming apps that
have EVERYTHING FROM EVERY STREAMING SITE. If you can stand a few commercials,
and can patiently root out the good apps from the bad, it's worth it. There's
no waiting, the shows/films usually appear the next day after the official
premier. My current favorite free app is 'Cullnissgoal'. It has everything!
It's so worth the commercials, only one every half hour or so of the media
time. Get it. You'll be so happy with it. And don't despair if you get an
"app not safe anymore, download new one" message. It will keep your
watch list intact, no matter. This isn't a commercial. I'm not getting anything
for my promo. Just trying to be helpful to those of you sick of high payments
for premium streaming. It doesn't have to be that way. The big streaming
services should be worried everyone will catch on to this

The adaptation of the
game "The Last of Us" to film and series is done exceptionally well.
The casting choices for the actors and actresses were spot-on, as they did an
outstanding job of bringing the characters to life in a very realistic and
believable way. The film and series have done an excellent job of capturing the
intense and emotional atmosphere of the game, making the audience feel fully
immersed in the story. The way in which the back story and events unfold are
also handled expertly, adding depth and richness to the overall viewing experience.
Overall, I can confidently say that this is one of the best series I have ever
watched and I highly recommend it to anyone who is a fan or not of the game or
looking for an amazing story. 10/10

fan from the game since day 1.

it more than 10 times. Really.

Went
in watching the first episode not thinking to much and was just wanting to try
to enjoy it.

Some
little additions and small changes made me stand and be on the edge, even

My
girlfriend watch in awe with me, with a face of complete shock and disbelief
during the whole show, she knows nothing about the game.

they
clearly know what they are doing, they have mastered the art of fast story
telling. They tell us a lot about every character, but they do it quick, in
small part of conversation or visual details that builds up the emotion around
the action.

This
is promising. when you are lost, look for the light. I think we found it.

This review is for episode 1 and 2.
I find the pilot
episode to be very interesting.
The color scheme of
the episode was great with its muted colors, it's lighting and the shadows.
Things look degraded, run down or take on a grunge look. This episode puts you
in a different atmosphere and It definitely gets the point across of what a
post-apocalyptic world could look like. Where money doesn't even exist anymore
and everything's on rations or whatever you can trade.
Episode 2.
Things open up
significantly and we finally get to see the Clickers.
The special effects makeup department is
outstanding!
I also really enjoyed
the performances by Torv who plays Tess and Ramsey who plays Ellie, it feels
believable and draws you into this dark world.
Things look even more
degraded in this episode, you can see how buildings have been taken over with
vines and other parts of nature, along with the infection in some areas being
all over the walls. Many scenes look
just like it's right out of the video game.
This would be a great
entry to anyone who wants to get into the horror zombie genre.
Recommended.

Dear NETFLIX, this is
how you make a series for a video game! Not whatever RESIDENT EVIL was.
